Tim Baker’s upcoming six-month Vibroacoustic Music project, funded by Arts Council England

Surface Area Dance Theatre are thrilled to announce and support Tim Baker’s upcoming six-month Vibroacoustic Music project, funded by Arts Council England. This project will focus on music that emphasises the physical sensation of sound.

We are proud to lend our haptic vests to Tim, supporting his efforts to enhance accessibility and foster deeper connections with music. Under the guidance of Dame Evelyn Glennie, Tim will collaborate with deaf artists at Dubrek Studios in Derby, experimenting with new Vibroacoustic Music (VAM) technologies to create resonant art.

Tim shared his vision:

“I hope to create new approaches to making resonant art, empower deaf audiences and artists, and explore the aesthetic qualities of new VAM technology.”
