Surface Area Dance Theatre receives an award from The Henry Moore Foundation to create ‘Anthos’ in partnership with Harewood House
Surface Area Dance Theatre’s partnership with Harewood House, as the custodian of ‘Adam’ (1938) by Sir Jacob Epstein, will lead to creating an innovative dance-for-camera short film. The film will be presented in a unique and immersive format, showcasing the exceptional talent of D/deaf dance artist Christopher Fonseca. This unique approach attracts predominantly new, national, and international audiences to sculpture. It introduces them to Jacob Epstein’s influential contribution to Britain’s visual arts and broader art history, sparking a renewed appreciation and recognition of Epstein’s work.
