Christopher Fonseca

Christopher Fonseca is a committed choreographer, performer and global D/deaf ambassador who works extensively in the UK, Europe and Internationally. Christopher's accomplishments are diversely wide-ranging, and notable achievements date back to 2012, when he played a pivotal role in London's Paralympics opening ceremony, showcasing his unique style and talent. Surface Area Dance Theatre welcomed Christopher as an Associate Artist in 2017 to steer community developments and decisions concerning D/deaf access and inclusion within all company activities.
Christopher's artistic journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to innovation and inclusivity. His ongoing projects, which include creative writing, BSL poetry, and choreography methodologies, are a source of anticipation and excitement. His recent commitments, such as delivering a community development activity in Athens, Greece, with support from the Latsis Foundation, and an intensive company outreach activity in Sunderland from November 2024, with support from Arts Council England and The National Lottery Community Fund, further underscore his dedication to his craft and his mission.
