Bonewords
Bonewords is a dynamic week of creative activities, led by celebrated deaf writer and artist Louise Stern and performance artist Hetain Patel. Louise and Hetain will collaborate with a community cast and two professional dancers, Chris Fonseca and Ashling McCann, to create a live performance work that will be shared with audiences at three North East theatres; Northern Stage, Newcastle, Ushaw Hall, Durham and Alnwick Playhouse, Alnwick.

Bonewords at Northern Stage, Newcastle upon Tyne, on the 23 of June at 19:30
The work is inspired by an archive of written notes and conversations from Louise’s past and she describes the ideas for the creation process as:
The native language is sign language, a physical language Written scraps tossed into boxes
Away from the moment and the person
Put down in specificity and also by us all
Now in undefined time and space Away from life
Access support will be provided throughout the full project by qualified British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters.
