Chisato Minamimura
Chisato Minamimura is a Deaf dance artist, choreographer and BSL art guide. She was born in Japan and is now based in London. Having trained at Trinity Laban in London, she went on to secure an M.A. at Yokohama National University. She also has a B.A in Japanese painting.

Chisato works with international cutting-edge digital artists working in sound, projection, vibration and animation. She often uses mathematical scores to create her choreography with professional dancers and aims to enhance the experience of dance and performance without using music but instead creating visual sound.
In 2018, an intimate new solo digital and live performance work, SCORED IN SILENCE scheduled to showcase at the Brighton Digital Festival 2018 and Manchester Science Festival 2018. The work explores the hidden perspectives of deaf hibakusha, the survivors of the A-Bombs that fell in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 and the relevance of this for all of us today.
